ALBANY, GA -- Good news for folks who routinely travel over Roosevelt Avenue--they are finally building a railroad crossing arm!

The arm would be at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Roosevelt since Jefferson is a state route.

Officials in the Planning and Development Department announced the contract agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation at Tuesday's city meeting.

However, drivers will have to be patient--the project isn't set to be bid out until April.

Then the department will have 60 days to accept bids and the company that gets the bid will have 180 days to a year to complete the project.
