ALBANY, GA -- Officials say the first ever Flint Fest in Downtown Albany was a success.

Thousands of people headed to Riverfront Park for the festival featuring live music, arts, and cultural performances.

Downtown Manager Aaron Blair says the event was geared at getting downtown more exposure.

“It brings a lot of people back to downtown. Maybe they haven't been here for a while, just experience it and see our park. Really, this park is the gem of the region,” said Blair.

Many of the people we talked to came from areas outside of Albany for Flint Fest. This year organizers merged two popular events from last year; River Jam and the International Festival.
