ALBANY, GA -- Some men took a break from work for the ‘Men at Work’ health fair this morning.

Phoebe Putney Hospital invited men working for the county to get free blood pressure screenings and prostate exams.

Health officials say without the program many of the men would never get checked.

“Early detection is our best protection and if we can catch prostate cancer early then we can cure prostate cancer,” said Patricia Swain, of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

“You want to check yourself and check your body out and see what kind of health you're in, because if you’re not checking yourself out and you’re in bad health and your sick then you'll never know,” said Public Works employee Reginald Cody.

This is seventh year phoebe has sponsored the men at work program.
