ALBANY, GA -- A very generous gift went to A Place 4 Hope Wednesday.

The homeless shelter and relief organization got a $20,000 check from charity league and their Debutante Club.

The group of young women held a golf tournament to help raise the money.

“We were trying to figure out what organization we wanted to give to and what we cared about most and one of the girls dads was actually involved with a place for hope and when she told us about it we really thought it would be a good idea,” said Katie Foster of the Debutante Club.

Since opening last November, a Place 4 Hope has helped more than 5,500 clients. Most of their funding comes from community donations.
