ALBANY, GA -- President Obama has made a few changes to the No Child Left Behind Law, doing away with proving students are proficient in math and reading by 2014.

Many schools are concerned about the graduation rate, which has schools increasing the number by 5% each year.
According to the NCLB law, by 2014, schools are supposed to have a 100% graduation rate.
As a result, Georgia and other states are asking for a waiver from those requirements for one year.
“The waiver will ask for us to prove the progress that we're making toward improving education in a number of different ways instead of one test, the CRCT or the Georgia High School Graduation Test,” says R.D. Harter, PIO for the Dougherty County School System.
Only states with certain data systems that track students' progress through the years were allowed to submit waivers.
