ALBANY, GA -- Governor Nathan Deal has proposed a new high school curriculum that would allow high school students to prepare for the workforce.

Aside from core classes, a student could choose alternative classes focusing on a trade such as welding or something in the medical field. Gov. Deal will need to present the plan to the state board of education who may then modify the plan before moving forward. It's not clear yet whether the classes would count for college credits.
