ALBANY, GA. -- Several businesses in Lee County are closing their doors and moving on.

Beef O'Brady's in the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center closed over a week ago, followed by the closing of Mama's Pizza in Leesburg.

Lee County officials believe a struggle to stay afloat is the reason behind the owner's decision to leave.

Regions bank is also scheduled to leave Lee County by the end of the year.  While some businesses are packing up, others are set to break ground.

“Chick-Fil-A is scheduled to break ground in the Publix Lee Crossing Shopping Center sometime next year,” said Lee County Chamber of Commerce President Winston Oxford, “Dollar General is looking to come to Robert E Lee Drive right here in Leesburg.”

He says there are three other entities that have made investments in real estate in Lee County.
