Another name has been thrown into the hat in the race for Ward II commissioner.
Melissa Strother announced her intentions to run at Tift Park Tuesday morning.
Strother was born and raised in Albany and wants to boost the number of family activities in the area while making sure security is priority number one.
“One officer recently told me that the Albany Police Department simply doesn't have the manpower to provide the police presence needed. We have to provide incentives to our officers to encourage them to stay in Albany,” says Strother.
If she is elected, she promises to bring back transparency to city government and believes each meeting should be televised.
