ALBANY, GA -- Officials are working to restore power to Albany State University after a semi-truck accident happened on campus.

Frances Quaglietta, 55, was traveling south on Radium Springs Road when he attempted to make a right onto the campus.

Once the 18-wheeler crossed onto North University Drive, it snagged power lines, bringing down a light pole at the intersection.

The accident caused a power outage spanning from Oglethorpe Blvd. well into the school's campus.

School police were assisted by the Albany Police Department to bring the situation under control.

“Anytime another agency needs our assistance we try to come in and fill that void when necessary,” said Albany Police Department Public Information Officer Phyllis Banks.

Since the accident happened on private property, no charges will be filed against the driver.
