The Dougherty County D.A. appoints two CRCT investigators as Special Asst. District Attorneys to give them more access during the investigation
Two state investigators have been appointed Special Assistant District Attorneys during the CRCT investigation
DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -- Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards appointed CRCT investigators Mike Bowers and Robert Wilson as Special Assistant District Attorneys on Thursday.
Edwards says this will allow Bowers and Wilson to issue subpoenas, hold any necessary hearings and access needed documents in connection to their investigation into CRCT cheating in Dougherty County schools without having to go through the D.A.'s office every time.
He says the appointments are not unusual.
"This is what is being done in other judicial circuits in regard to their investigations, I’m just following suit. This facilitates their ability to do whatever court work needs to be done," says Edwards.
Dougherty County had the state’s second-highest amount of schools flagged for CRCT cheating.
