ALBANY, GA -- A local celebrity gives his thoughts on raising the debt ceiling.
Former President Jimmy Carter was teaching Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains Sunday.
And while he declined an on-camera interview, he did discuss the debt ceiling with folks before launching into the service.
He said he was concerned about the issue, saying both parties should sacrifice a little and come to a compromise--soon!
He reiterated that raising the debt ceiling wouldn't mean handing out more money, it just means having the money to pay off the debt the U.S. has already accumulated.
Law makers have until August 2 to make a decision.
