Leader of Black Gangsta Disciple pled guilty to charges related to a death from a gang initiation

ALBANY, GA -- Three men – including a gang leader – pled guilty on Friday to charges related to a death during a gang initiation.

Gregory Marshall, leader of Black Gangsta Disciple, pled guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault, Concealing the Death of Another and Gang Participation. He was sentenced to 40 years with the first 15 to be served in prison.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Reginald Richardson was among others being initiated into the BGD gang by being “jumped in” for six minutes. After Richardson suffered severe injuries, the D.A.’s Office says he was taken to a home for treatment instead of the hospital.

Two others involved during this initiation also pled guilty on Friday.

Antonio Crapps was also being jumped in on the same day as Richardson. Crapps pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault and Gang Participation. He was sentenced to 25 years with the first seven to be served in prison.

Corey Jackson was not present at the initiation, says the D.A.'s Office, but was at the house where Richardson was brought for treatment before being taken to the hospital. Jackson pled guilty to Concealing the Death of Another and Gang Participation. He was sentenced to 20 years probation.

The D.A.’s Office says there were a total of 16 people involved in this case. There are four defendants left.
