Vehicles have faulty wiring

Toyota is recalling more than 82,000 hybrid SUVs.

The recall includes both Highlander and Lexus models from its 2006 and 2007 lines. The issue is faulty wiring in computer boards which could cause the vehicle to slow down, or coast to a complete stop.

“I haven’t had it -- this is the first Toyota I’ve ever had, and it's a 2007, and I have never had any -- I’m really enjoying it because I’ve never had anything wrong with it, you know; everything's good about it,” said Lois Fletcher, owner of an Avalon.

The recall only affects cars sold in the United States.

The auto giant will notify all owners of the affected vehicles by mid-July.
