The Albany Police Department bestows the Unit Citation award
ALBANY, GA -- A group of Albany Police officers were honored on Wednesday afternoon for their outstanding service in the line of duty.
APD's robbery and homicide unit received the Unit Citation Award for the work they've done over the past year. This is the second time the award has been given out within the Albany Police Department.
The leader of the unit said the men were commended for being ready whenever the job called.
“For the most part it's not seen by most people because it's either late at night or it's up here and no one sees it,” said APD officer Eddie Jones, ” But by the time the dust has settled, we've been successful in apprehending the suspects and bringing them to justice.”
Six men in all received the award. All but one was in attendance during the award ceremony.
