ALBANY, GA -- The Heritage House was a topic of discussion again today among city commissioners.

Many want to see the building torn down. They say it’s a haven for drugs, prostitution and other illegal activities.

Right now the city has a suit against the property owners to have the abandoned hotel demolished.

“In the meantime we can't just sit around and not do anything. So we need to look at interim solutions to the crime problem created by the vacant property. Shoring up fences, possibly boarding it up,” said City Commissioner Bob Langstaff.

The owners of the building have filed an appeal that has tied up the demolition. The next court date isn’t until October.
