ALBANY, GA -- Outside of Phoebe Putney Hospital you may have noticed a courtyard with dozens of bricks inscribed with people's names.
On Tuesday the hospital held a special ceremony and added some more inscribed bricks.
People can purchase the honorary bricks as part of their paver dedication project to benefit the Phoebe Foundation.
“It really acknowledges a special relationship that has been formed or a mile stone in someone's life. We do honorariums and memorials and all of the proceeds for this program go to our unrestricted fund which goes directly to the patients and their families to make sure that they have the best care while they are here,” said Phoebe Foundation Executive Director Lauren Ray.
The hospital also chipped in for bricks to honor some of their retired workers. There are currently more than 1,000 bricks in the courtyard.
