ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Commission voted to approve raising Emergency Medical Service rates at Monday’s meeting.
Dougherty County EMS has not raised its rates since 2007.
Rates will go up roughly $100 across the board.
Medicaid and Medicare will take care of 80% of those costs.
The raise is estimated to bring in about $80,000 in revenue.
That money will go to the county's general fund which will help pay the salaries of the EMT's and paramedics.
The new rates go into effective July first.
