ALBANY, GA -- Folks gathered at Albany State University for the final day of the southwest Georgia Civil Rights Reunion.

Saturday's conference topics included health issues, farm zonings, and the legal system.

Officials say one in three black men will go to jail at some point in their life, and they only see that statistic growing over the years.

ASU student, Nkechi Ndukwe says she knows why.

“They have a mentality of making fast cash. It's almost as if they've forgotten our heritage of struggling and working hard and putting forth an effort to provide for your family,” says Ndukwe.

The freedom singers opened and closed with a song.

There was also a banquet held Saturday night at seven in the HPER gym.
