Project: Fresh Start is all about getting simple, everyday items to the homeless of Albany

ALBANY, GA -- The Salvation Army in Albany is asking for your help with items they need for their emergency center: A Place 4 Hope.

They're starting a drive for personal hygiene items. It's all part of 'Project: Fresh Start' that's going on the entire month of April.

It's simple things they're asking for, like travel size soap and shampoo.

“Those things sometimes we take for granted, thing we always have sitting there on the stand there in the bathroom. But sometimes it's what our homeless folks don't always really have a lot of,” said Captain Doug McClure of the Salvation Army.

Items they are asking for include:

Soap

Deodorant

Shaving gel

Razors

Lotion

Shampoo

Toothpaste

Toothbrushes

You can drop these items off at the Salvation Army building located at 304 West 2nd Avenue, or A Place For Hope at 206 South Monroe Street.
