ALBANY, GA -- One Albany woman is trying to raise awareness of the food shortage by camping out along Ledo Road.

Marie Kreiser, with Curves, will be camping out on the empty lot between the strip shopping center and Byne Memorial Baptist Church all week collecting canned goods and monetary donations.

She says the local food bank, which services over 20 counties, is in desperate need of donations... And you never know when you might become their next customer.

“And then the devastating things that are going on all around the world, you never know when you might be the recipient, you know, it could be an overnight thing.

Last year Marie raised 2,000 pounds of food and $500 cash.

She'll be out there until Saturday morning.
