The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the theft of several air conditioner units.

Investigator Willie Williams spotted a truck with an air conditioning unit in the back.  When Williams attempted to stop the truck, the driver sped off.  With help from other officers Investigator Williams eventually caught William Shannon Aultman.

Aultman resisted arrest, kicked out a rear vehicle window, and attempted to escape from the car.

Officials say they were able to connect Aultman with multiple stolen air conditioning units because of evidence found at his home and a neighboring abandoned property.

According to Crisp County Sheriff Donnie Haralson, the estimated damage from multiple units being stolen is valued at $450,000.  Aultman is charged with interference with government property, three felony counts of theft by taking.  More charges are expected in the near future.
