LEESBURG, GA -- Butterfly Kisses is one step closer to the finish line on its special needs playground.

Lee County Commissioners voted on Tuesday night to donate the old soccer field on Starksville Avenue, where the Recreation Department is located, to Butterfly Kisses.

Butterfly Kisses Founder Traci Henry is wasting no time ordering the equipment.

“I’m excited because I'm ordering it tomorrow (Wednesday). It should be here in four weeks and then we have to plan the build. And we can have it built, done in one day,” says Founder Traci Henry.

The playground was formerly planned to be on an acre of land donated by the Leesburg Church of God.

Butterfly Kisses won a Pepsi Refresh grant worth $50,000 in December 2010.

Henry recently finished fundraisers to raise money for her $850 IRS non-profit application. She did raise the money and filed in February. Henry says she will find out if her application was approved in three months.
