ALBANY, GA -- Four of Albany Technical College's top students were honored today at the Albany Rotary Club. Then one of the four was named the schools GOAL winner.

GOAL stands for the Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership. Every year a student at each technical in the state college is given the distinction. They then compete against each others for the state award.

This year's Albany Technical College winner was Patrick Jenkins, an environmental horticulture student.

“It’s an accomplishment to be recognized for the academic success I have had at Albany Technical College and it’s just a real honor to be recognized for my academic achievement,” said Jenkins.

Not too long ago an Albany Tech student won the overall state competition.  Keldrique Lofton won the top prize in 2007.
