Officers honored for bravery, commitment

ALBANY, GA. -- The Exchange Club of Albany honored some of law enforcement’s finest today.

Officers from several local departments received Officer of the Year Awards.

One of those was Corporal Tommy Bruce of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office.

Bruce is the deputy that apprehended the man accused of shooting and killing Lieutenant Cliff Rouse on December 23rd of last year.

"We’re all one big family," said Bruce. "We really are. I’m just proud of all of them that showed up. They are all my heroes."

Cliff Rouse himself was a previous winner of the Officer of the Year Award.
