Parents of students at an Albany private school received some unsettling news on Thursday.

FOX 31 has obtained a copy of an email from Deerfield Windsor Headmaster Dave Davies.

The email describes an incident that allegedly took place just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon.

It says an unknown juvenile armed with a knife chased a 15-year-old through the school parking lot.

The student escaped by running into the school cafeteria.

No one was hurt but the school was placed in lockdown.

Albany police are investigating.
