Albany City Commissioner Christopher Pike wants parents to be held more accountable

ALBANY, GA. -- Albany City Commissioner Christopher Pike proposed the city review the teen curfew ordinance in order to see what opportunities they have to strengthen it.

Pike wants to evaluate the policy and make sure the ordinance holds parents more accountable for the teens who are repeat curfew violators.  He says the city is having a problem with graffiti and teenagers loitering late at night.  “One of the problems that were going be looking at is whether or not  the penalties are strong enough to encourage parents to monitor their children.  So we'll be looking at that and evaluating that” says Pike.

Commissioners say they want input on potential changes from parents, business owners, and community members.
