America's Health Rankings: Georgia makes major improvement in overall health scores

The 2010 rankings place Georgia as the 36th healthiest state, Georgia was ranked 43rd in 2009

MINNETONKA, MN -- New data from America’s Health Rankings shows Georgia is one of four states with the greatest overall health score improvement from 2009. 

In a press release to FOX 31 News, the 2010 rankings place Georgia as the 36th healthiest state. Georgia was ranked 43rd in 2009. 

The five most healthy states are 1. Vermont, 2. Massachusetts, 3. New Hampshire, 4. Connecticut, 5. Hawaii. The five least healthy states are 46. Oklahoma, 47. Nevada, 48. Arkansas, 49. Louisiana, 50. Mississippi. 

States with the greatest overall health score improvement from 2009 are Georgia, Idaho, Nebraska and South Carolina.
