ALBANY, GA. -- Boy Scout Troop 99 spent Tuesday morning giving out boxes of non-perishable items to members of the community.

Cub Master Reverend Derrick Jackson says they want to use the Thanksgiving holidays as a teachable moment for the boys to appreciate everything they have.  “People are needy.  Right now times are hard and I want my boys to understand that they are fortunate enough that they can give back to the community.  This helps them and also builds character” says Jackson.

All of the items given out today were donated by Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Albany State University students.
