ALBANY, GA -- An escaped inmate from the Colquitt Correctional Institution is back behind bars.

33-year-old Timothy Metrakos ran away from a work detail near Georgia Highway 37 in Moultrie on Monday.

He was captured about 3 hours later in a nearby subdivision.

He will be charged with escape by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office – a charge that could mean an additional one to five years in prison.
