The Home Depot in Albany teams up with local authorities to get children fingerprinted

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Police Department, Albany Fire Department, EMS, and The Home Depot partnered up to sponsor a fingerprinting event.

Dozens of parents brought their children and teenagers to get fingerprinted.  Officials say its crucial for parents to have as much information as possible like height, weight, recent pictures, and fingerprints in case of an emergency.

Home Depot employee Catina Dawson says the store partners up the first Saturday of every month for the fingerprinting event.  “It’s important for parents to have this kind of information.  If unfortunately they were grabbed by a bad person the parents have their child’s fingerprints on file and they can assist law enforcement and that will hopefully lead to a quick identification of their child when they are hopefully found” says Dawson.

Children also participated in building bird houses and face painting.
