MCG President visits new MCG Clinical Campus for first time

ALBANY, GA -- The Medical College of Georgia President stopped at Phoebe Putney to tour the brand MCG Clinical Campus. This was President Ricardo Azziz’s first visit to the center since it opened on Sept. 22.

He says the partnership with Phoebe Putney and Southwest Georgia is key one. Azziz says through this partnership he wants to drive health education forward.

“We’ll have students and residents that will train in this area, they’re going to learn to love this area, they’re going to learn to stay in the area, they’re going to understand the problems of this area and there will be better doctors and better nurses and better health care providers for you here,” says Azziz.

The Medical College of Georgia is planning on changing its name soon to the Georgia Health Sciences University.
