Many Southwest Georgians are talking are talking about the Cutliff Grove Fiasco, but is anyone stepping forward to formally confront it?

ALBANY, GA. -- City Commissioners are feeling the heat from their lack of management with the Cutliff Grove Family Resource Center that cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Assistant City Manager Wes Smith says no one signed up to speak at the meeting on the issue.

Dougherty County Taxpayer Association President Richard Thomas says this is another example of the public not holding officials accountable, and officials letting the ball slip out of their hands.  “It’s like these developers go to the city with their hands out and they get money for nothing.  They don’t have to provide any evidence of experience of anything else and they all fail.  I wonder when the citizens of Southwest Georgia are going to be enraged enough to take action” says Thomas.

Thomas admits he was late signing up to speak, but hopes the mayor allows him to address everyone in attendance at the meeting Tuesday night.
