School buses in Dougherty County will be back on the road in a just few days

ALBANY, GA -- School buses in Dougherty County will be back on the road in a just few days.
With about 8,200 students riding buses daily, school officials say it's important for drivers to look for safety signals. Crosswalk signs, school bus stops, and flashing lights are just a few of the signs that will start back up next week.
DCSS Spokesman R.D. Harter says there's a reason for the wide variety of safety signs. “We really want our children to be safe and the more alert drivers are, the better we'll feel that safety can be met on our roads and streets” says Harter
Safety measures for students riding the bus have also increased. This year students must register to ride, as well as sign a safety contract.
