BUFORD, GA. (AP) -- The Hall County sheriff's office says a 26-year-old woman drowned in Lake Lanier, and the driver of a boat has been charged with boating under the influence.

Capt. David Kimbrell of the Hall County sheriff's office says Samantha Shai McBride of Buford, was on a boat with other family members Sunday evening when she got into the water but did not resurface.

The sheriff's office says the state Department of Natural Resources has charged 36-year-old Michael Andrea of Buford with boating under the influence.

Kimbrell says divers pulled the woman's body from the water shortly before 8 p.m.
