ALBANY, GA. -- At the US19 Drag Way it was all about the rides on Independence Day.
Thousands of people showed up to the car and bike show. There were also races, tailgating, and live music.
Johnnie Newsome brought down 20 cars from Columbus to compete in the car competition. He takes his cars very seriously and says a lot preparation goes into getting them ready.
“First of all your paint and a nice set of rims on it,” said Newsome. “Very clean; engine, gas compartment, so forth and so on. You work on cleanliness and you'll win 50 percent of the battle.”
The night ended with a performance from rapper plies and a fireworks show.
