ALBANY, GA. -- Air conditioning is many people’s number one way of staying cool. But keeping your house cold may have negative effects on your unit.
WG&L Spokeswoman Lorie Farkas from Albany Water, Gas, and Light says there are many thermostat misinterpretations. "Moving it a degree can’t make that much of a difference" says Farkas. "But every degree under 78 that you move your thermostat, you raise your bill three to five percent, and in a very short while you could really make a dramatic increase in your bill."
