19-year-old Tamara George was one of many keynote speakers who took part in the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.

The luncheon was held in downtown Albany today to raise awareness and combat teen pregnancy in Southwest Georgia. Dougherty County’s birth rate is 75.5 per 1,000 females between the ages of 15-19. Those numbers are much higher than the state average of 54.8 per 1,000 females.
