Albany fire crews were practicing “trench cuts” in the 200 block of Frost Drive Thursday.
Training authorities say they use trench cuts to preserve surrounding buildings or rooms. The method is to cut a four foot slit through the roof of the building for ventilation purposes. The building had a scheduled burn as a part of the training that had to be delayed because of the wind.
