A new Zaxby's and Elements Coffee open up in Albany this week

Albany is now home to two new restaurants.

Zaxby's has opened on Dawson and Slappey Boulevard. The restaurant was packed Monday for lunch, even the drive through was wrapped around the building. District Manager George Houston says they hired around 50 new employees and are still hiring for the new and old locations. Open Tuesday in downtown on Jackson Street is Elements Coffee. Folks Fox 31 News spoke with say they're excited new businesses are moving downtown again.

City commissioner Chris Pike says the opening of the coffee shop is a sign Albany is recovering from the economic downturn.
