Perdue will deliver the annual address to a joint session of the state Legislature
(AP) -- Gov. Sonny Perdue is set to deliver his final State of the State address. And he's preparing to leave office presiding over some of the deepest budget cuts in Georgia history.
Perdue will deliver the annual address to a joint session of the state Legislature on Wednesday morning.
The governor traditionally releases his state budget blueprint on the same day as the speech. But his office declined to say whether the budget would be released on Wednesday as well.
Tax revenues have fallen for 13 straight months in Georgia, which means legislators will need to hack another $1 billion or so from the $18.6 billion spending plan.
