77-year-old Fannie Corley disappeared on Christmas Eve

The family of a missing Lee County woman is planning a memorial service at a local church this weekend.

77-year-old Fannie Corley disappeared on Christmas Eve. Her abandoned car was found on the Old Leesburg Road Bridge over Lake Chehaw and search teams believe she is in the water. Cadaver dogs signaled a spot near the Philema Road Bridge on Monday, but did not pick up a scent when they searched the waters again Thursday. Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals says they’re scaling back the search, and thanked the dozens of people who have helped during the past eight days.

Corley’s service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Baptist Church.
