Sexting is when someone sends a sexually explicit message or picture on their cell phone.

A recent survey by the Associated Press and MTV say 30% of teens have received a sext message and ten percent have sent one.

Officials say that sexting can seem fun now, but could have major consequences in the future.  Consequences include the picture leaking to the internet making it easy to find with a simple name search.  Other consequences include being convicted of transmitting child pornography and being labeled a sex offender.

Officials say the best thing to do is to stay away from taking sexually explicit pictures.
