Young girls learning how to sew celebrated Veterans Day by sewing pillows for troops

Carolyn Levy, sewing instructor at Sew-thern Belles & Beaus says she got the idea to sew pillows for the military from one of her student's parents and her class loved the idea.

A dozen young ladies in third through sixth grade cut, sewed, and stuffed almost 200 pillows to send to troops in honor of Veterans Day.

The girls say sewing the pillows makes them feel a deeper connection to the military.  "It really means a lot to me to give something to the soldiers who are fighting for our country" says Shelby Covin.

All of the girls wrote multiple letters to troops that will accompany the pillows.
