The Civil Rights Institution wants to hire an executive director.

Chairman Michael Rogers went before the City Commission Wednesday requesting $150,000 to retain an executive director for three years. They have Dr. Lee Formwalt in mind for the position. There was some opposition--Commissioner Robert Langstaff voted no, saying that all charitable non-profits should come during budget time and vie for their share of the general fund. Langstaff was outvoted, however.

They will vote to officially approve the motion at the night meeting on the 24th.
