Dougherty County police are asking for your help in identifying two thieves that hit two separate convenience stores last night. Police say a silver Regency drove straight through the front door of the Quick Buys on Sylvester Road around 2:30 this morning.
“Well, it's the fastest way to get in and get what you want and get back out. And also the fact that it’s not their car so they're not damaging their own property,” said Sergeant Danny Ball.
Police say the silver Regency was reported stolen. Reports also show the robbers caused more damage to the building than what they got away with.
“Most of it’s cigarettes and cigars - such as that,” said Ball.
But police say for these thieves it wasn't enough. They then headed over to the Express Lane on Newton Road and tried to commit the same crime. A Dougherty County officer was in the area and tried to block the suspect vehicle in. After that authorities say the two unknown black males then headed toward Albany - ditching the car along the way. Surveillance video is being reviewed and police are asking for any information anyone may have regarding the case.
