Former officer arrested on simple battery warrant

A former Albany police officer is arrested.
Jason Weaver was arrested Friday on simple battery and making a false statement in writing charges. The arrest stems from an alleged altercation with his wife in Dougherty County.
Weaver resigned from the department on Friday.
