Nearly 68-percent of Americans say Halloween is their favorite holiday, while 54-percent stated Halloween is becoming as much a holiday for adults as for kids, which means many more people could be out traveling from party to party.

All across Albany, it seems most bars and many homeowners are throwing some kind of Halloween bash, which has many Southwest Georgians jumping at the chance to join the party and show off their costumes.

But there are people who won’t be dancing and drinking the night away, they’ll be on prowl to put you away if you drink and drive. Traveling from party to party or bar to bar, isn’t the best idea says Dougherty County Police Department Lt. Tom Jackson.

“Our H.E.A.T. unit will be out and targeting people that have been consuming too much, so if you leave a party and you’ve been drinking you better look out because we’re going to be out there looking for you and it could turn into a real devilish night for sure because you’ll be playing the character behind the bars,” says Lt. Jackson.
