All commissioners think it's good idea, but with specifications

The Lee County Board of Commissioners discussed options for the boat ramp off Highway 19 tonight.

Plans to build the boat ramp that would be accessible to motorized and non-motorized boats on the east side of the highway along the Kinchafoonee Creek came with much debate. The Department of Natural Resources has leased the property from the county with intentions of "beautifying" the area. All commissioners think the recreation area will better the community. Some are only for kayak and canoe launches though, saying motorized boats will cause to much of a disturbance in traffic and homes along the creek.
