Chief Medical Officer Doug Patten told the Phoebe board at Wednesday's meeting that the hospital will now host med students for two full years instead of on a rotational basis

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is expanding its partnership with the Medical College of Georgia.

Chief Medical Officer Doug Patten told the Phoebe board at Wednesday’s meeting that the hospital will now host med students for two full years instead of on a rotational basis. Eight to 10 students from the college will spend their third and fourth year of med school in Albany.

Eventually, 30 to 40 med students will study at Phoebe for two years at a time.
