Albany State University kicks off a new mentoring program for male students called “Project Success”

The group has 30 sophomores and juniors with gpa’s of at least 3.0.  The program equips students with life skills that will further their education.

The group’s leader W. Frank Wilson says they will be active in the community and on campus.  “They’ll be involved with Toastmasters which will help them develop their speaking and writing skills.  They will be involved with the Boule that is going to engage these young men in dining etiquette.  They will be mentoring in elementary schools, and they will go through a career exploration through the career center at Albany State University” says Wilson.

The program will last throughout the entire school year and school officials hope it will continue in the future.
